Sam Sherry’s Waltz Routines

Probably the secong routine, or routines, which Sam put together.  The first more complicate dset was devised in the late 1960s or early 1970s.  It consisted of five steps which Sam had learned from his father, James Sherry and a further five recalled from his stage cateer. He later found that newer dancers found the latter to be rather difficult and so he inserted a simpler five steps to make an easier routine.

Both dances thus consist of 10 steps, all danced only off one foot.

The routine has, inevitably, varied over the years and these changes are also dealt with in the booklet.

A number of videos of Sam and others performing the routine are also avaiable through the tabs below.
