Wilson, Mary “Cissie”

Clog dancer from Hawkshead, Westmorland.  Born 1989.  Also provided information to collector Dan Howison.

She was taught by Joseph Robinson (Old Jos) and was able to provide a step notation for Treble Shuffle.

She also provided some choreographic details of:

Eight Hand Reel 
Three Hand Reel – which she recalled as being solely an exhibition dance.

She also provided brief information about the sword dance.

In 1956 she was able to teach the shuffle off, single shuffle, treble shuffle, crunch, hagworm crawl and backwards step.
