Winder, Richard

Dancer originally from Wyresdale, Lancashire. Born c. 1891.

Born and brought up in Wyresdale he moved to Forton, Lancashire in about 1950.

He had danced Greensleeves on many occasions and was able to give a full account of the dance and provide a notation which he often performed with Bartle Dodding, John Winder and Septimus Brindle.  He also recalled the Frog Dance, was able to provide a notation for the  Brush Dance and remembered his mother clog dancing.
