Spanish Dance

Demonstration dance known from oral tradition in Cumbria. In some cases perhaps synonymous with the Spanish Waltz.

Known to have been taught by the following dancing masters:

Arthur C. Cowper of York.
Mr Garnett, operating in Wicham in 1825. The dance was described in his ball programme for 1825 as for “six ladies with garlands”.
Robert Carson Robinson of Crosthwaite
