National Dance

Speciality or character dance for children.  Known from oral tradition in the southern Lake District.

Known to have been taught by the following dancing masters:

Tommy Cannon of Underbarrow and Crosthwaite

The dance appears to have involved (generally girls) dressed in the national costumes of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
