The Instep Research Team is committed to maintaining both the privacy and security, and the trust and confidence, of all visitors to our website.

What is this privacy policy for?

This privacy policy relates to the activities of the Instep Research Team.

It outlines the ways we collect, store and use any personal information and why.

Whenever you provide us with your personal information we will treat it in accordance with this policy and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2016 and the UK Data Protection Act 2018. This policy is effective from 1st March 2020 and will be reviewed regularly.

Who we are

Instep is a registered charity (no. 1178704) with the aim of promoting and developing the arts of clog and step dancing through research and by the holding of educational events to encourage people to participate in these arts. Instep’s registered office is at 30 Dundry Lane, Dundry, Bristol, BS41 8JQ, UK.

Types of data we collect

Other than as set out below we do not collect or store any personal information, we do not run a newsletter mailing list and do not share personal information with any third party.

Our site contains a considerable quantity of archival information which often contains addresses and other personal details. We consider that making such material available on the web amounts to archiving in the public interest which is exempt under the GDPR, as is providing information for academic research.

We use Google Analytics to improve our understanding about how people use our website.

Third party websites and social media

Some of our webpages include a Facebook plugin to enable visitors to share our website content with others via the Facebook social media website. Anonymous data is collected – please see www.facebook.com/policy.php for more information.

We use YouTube to host some of our video content and use Youtube Channel Analytics to improve our understanding about how people use our media. Please see Google’s privacy policy (above) for further information. Viewing these embedded materials may set cookies on your computer.

If you choose to use Paypal to make a donation to Instep, you will provide your account information direct to Paypal. PayPal’s privacy policy will apply to the information you provide on the Paypal website.

The Instep website contains links to other websites. Our privacy policy applies only to our website, so if you click on a link to another website, you should read their privacy policy.
