Louisae Blanche Sherry was a musician, singer, dancer and cotortionist on the professional music hall stage.
Louise Blanche Sherry (1906-?) was the sixth child of James Bernard Sherry and Alice Louise Bradley-Truman.
Known in the family as Ouida she worked for many years with her sisters as part of an act known as “The Sherina Sisters” consisting of close harmony singing and Ouida performing her speciality act. She was what was known in the trade as a “bender”. Rather like a graceful contortionist, although she was also a ballet dancer and violinist. Indeed she was one of the few of the family to have passed any musical examinations! After she married in about 1929 she left the act and was replaced by her sister Daisy.
