Instep AGM – 2-4 February 2018

The Instep AGM this year was great. We met in Derbyshire, courtesy of Toby, with a scattering of snow courtesy of the Met Office fitting this early February gathering.

On Friday evening we were all arriving and had much to catch up on, and asking advice about various projects. This was done over quantities of quiche and the odd bottle of wine. On Saturday morning, after breakfast, we moved the tables through to the living room and started the meetings. They lasted about four hours, plus a break for more quiche. We more or less kept to the points, but just had a lot to sort out! There were many discussions, and solutions suggested, and people volunteering for various roles and projects. It was very dynamic and inspiring.

Highlights include:

  • We hope to get approval from the Charity Commission soon.
  • A sub-group is looking into the procedures for publicising, applying for and controlling projects for grants.
  • We invited, and welcome John Howson, Sherry Johnson and Pierre Chartrand to our number.
  • We are aiming to to have more news and updates on the website and on social media, and articles in magazines.

On the Sunday we had all the lap tops and tablets out to learn about google groups, blogs, and entering Newcastle Notation.

Watch out for other updates and projects which are planned!
