Clog dancer from Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria. Born c. 1900.
Brought up in Underbarrow, he was a pupil of Tommy Cannon and went to his classes in Underbarrow.
He was able to provide notations for:
and was able to teach the following clog steps: Shuffle off, single shuffle, double shuffle, treble shuffle, hagworm crawl, crunch, kicking steps, step over and crunch, heel and toe.
He recalled the sword dance for two girls performed over two swords and Horse to Newmarket.
